I began helping with elderly family a few years ago by necessity and found it extremely rewarding. I don't have a medical background, but the clients I've cared for had their medical needs covered. What I'm good at is spending time. Listening. Sharing. At 57, I'm old enough to understand the context of their lives and what they've experienced. I'm young enough to capably help them with light housecleaning and cooking. With household projects that have become a little too much. Hanging a shelf. Or organizing a closet or extra bedroom. Most of all, I'm great company. A typical visit would include running any needed errands on the way to the visit. Upon arriving complete tasks such as thoroughly cleaning the home, laundry help, light yard work. After 1. 5 to 2 hours I usually fix a light snack or meal and sit down for a 30 to 60 minute visit that could include light exercise like a walk. At the conclusion, I could fix another meal to be eaten later. I have my CPR certificate.
