Hi! My names Erin! I have a brother with severe autism. He is non verbal and for most of his life was pretty violent with himself and others. I grew up with all kinds of people from different fields of the autism world come in and try to help him with different therapy techniques and medications. I have been next to my brother helping him for the last 20 years in all kinds of ways. I am always there for him to help cook, clean, set out medications, take him out shopping, and spend quality time with him. Which is nice, but before he was better he was worse. I had to help him shower, shave, get out of bed in the morning, hold his hands down to keep from injuring himself, and watch myself from getting my teeth knocked in. I may not have any actual paid experience working with special needs children, but I have been around them my whole life. Autism from high and low on the spectrum as well as children with down syndrome. I am patient, caring, and always try to remain positive!
