I have 10 yrs of experience as an elderly companion caregiver to those w/ mobility or health challenges. Most of my experience comes from caring for my beloved late wheelchair-bound grandfather. I enjoyed visiting regularly to ensure his needs were met & he was as happy & comfortable as possible. Typical visits included uplifting companionship, task help, errands, food prep, encouraging eating & activity, light cleaning, medication management, & noting health or home maintenance issues for follow-up. Seniors can feel lonely or down, especially w/ higher care needs or infrequent visitors. I truly enjoy seeing them light up at visits & watch their progress through my care. I'm also available to take seniors to & from appointments, as I'm a strong medical advocate-ensuring providers address concerns & aftercare plans are in place. I also have experience supporting seniors w/ mental health challenges & providing end-of-life support w/ empathy, conversation, & calm reassurance.
