My teaching philosophy is that students don't care what you know until they know that you care! Building strong connections is at the heart of my practice. I have my masters plus 30 additional graduate credits and over 15 years of experience teaching all ages. I have an active post graduate professional license in Virginia and I am endorsed in the following: Elementary Education, English as a Second Language and Special Education (in progress). I currently teach Literacy Essentials and Strategies for Success at Madison High School. I have received AVMR training and am Orton-Gillingham trained . As a parent of a 4th and 9th grader I know how essential strong communication skills between parents and teachers are and I strive to help both around parents feel confidence through personalized support. I am eager to bring my experience with diverse learners to help you succeed in your academic journey.

Erin is a wealth of experience and knowledge. She has a wide range working in elementary education, special education, to now serving students in ESOL at the high school level. Erin’s beliefs are in building a relationship with each of her students and catering their session for individualized learning plans. Erin not only being an incredible teacher and tutor, but mother and mom friend to all has always done this with every child I’ve seen her interact with. She’s patient, gentle, and has those different tools in her tool box to provide tutoring content in a way where each child understands. When I say she’s good… she’s the best!
