About Erin

Hi There, My name is Erin Buchanan and I live in Frederick MD. I am a certified teacher for FCPS, and have been teaching special education for the past 13 years. I have a dual certification in Elementary and Special Education, and have my masters degree equivalency. I have experience tutoring students with a wide range of disabilities including ADD/ADHD, SLD, Dyslexia, and Autism. I also have experience with non-verbal or semi-verbal students using AAC including high and low tech options. I have experience implementing behavioral intervention plans as well as providing direct instruction on social emotional learning including implementation of the Zones of Regulation. I am certified to teach Orton Gillingham is which is a structured literacy program designed for students with dyslexia. I am currently enrolled in the LETRS to deepen my knowledge of reading instruction. I am also certified to teach Do the Math intervention. Teaching and working with kids is my passion.
