Hello! My child-care experience dates to my teenage years (I'm now 33), babysitting for children in the neighborhood for a few hours here and there. However, after I graduated from college I took my care-giving a step further and became a full-time nanny for a family of three with working parents. Nannying duties for a boy (11) and twin girls (6) included driving to and from separate schools, homework, meal preparation (breakfast, lunches, and dinner), driving to and from after-school programs and appointments, and bedtime prep/reading stories. In addition to maintaining a daily schedule for the children, all household chores (washing and folding laundry, tidying, grocery shopping, and dry cleaning) were performed while children and parents were out of the house. Among other families I have nannied for, I find that one of the most important parts of the job is to have patience and to keep a positive, regular dialogue with parents and children to promote a happy, healthy living space.

Erik is an all around great guy. He is responsible, always on time, respectful, and a big hit with kids (especially if you have a son who likes the idea of a male sitter). Erik came through for us once and helped my son complete a boy scout activity. He also played basketball on request with my son, which was a great help. My daughter enjoyed having Erik sit as well. I trusted Erik to drive my kids and come in and out of our house with our key.
