Within this past year while being a full time student, I took on a full time job care taking for a company that facilitates a range of intellectually disabled individuals in a residential home. I have with held attentiveness and readiness in helping individuals who need 24 hour care. Within a job like this, I help and guide these individuals in their daily living tasks, which includes cooking all meals and feeding, showering and helping with other hygienic necessities, changing their clothes and/or diapers if needed. Repositioning those and transferring those who are in wheelchairs into their bed and out. I engage in activities and motivate others to engage as well with each other and in things such as arts and crafts, movie watching, puzzles, etc. I am med certified (within my job) and give individuals their medication at it's given time. I enjoy helping others and have gained both interest and experience in helping those who are specifically disabled.
