Erika seemed really great in the beginning - she was helpful and attentive. But after just a few short weeks, it became apparent that she'd rather be doing anything but working. My infant son is a fairly laid back kid - he doesn't cry if his needs are met, and he can even amuse himself for small periods of time. I was very upset by Erika's remarks that she was bored because the baby naps so much, and also by her many requests to leave early if he was sleeping. I hired an in-home nanny so that I could work from home while being close to my son - her constant requests to leave early made it difficult to do so. In the end Erika made the choice to leave this job, but it was only two days earlier than we had planned on letting her go. If you need someone reliable, who will become part of the family long-term, I would suggest going with someone else.
