Experience: 14 yrs
Making a difference in people's lives is my passion, and that's what drew me to senior care. For 14 years, I've provided respite, live-in, and hospice care, and assisted with everything from transportation and errands to light housekeeping and meal preparation. I'm also experienced in dementia care, medical management, mobility assistance, and physical activity. I understand the importance of building connections by learning about a person's preferences and history. I am patient, compassionate, professional, and detail-oriented. I communicate with families through written reports and regular updates, always respecting their preferred method. I'm also skilled at de-escalating stressful situations and incorporating memory care activities. I have a college degree and certifications in CPR and First Aid. Knowing I can bring comfort and peace of mind to your family gives me a deep sense of purpose. Rate:$25 HR.
I don’t even know where to start… Ericka came into my life during one of the most difficult seasons I’ve ever faced, and I truly believe she was sent to me. I was already dealing with dementia, which made things hard enough, and then I was in a bad car accident that led to multiple surgeries. I was in pain, confused, emotional… and not always easy to deal with. But Ericka never made me feel like I was “too much.” Not once. She stayed with me day and night for three months straight, barely going home, just to make sure I was okay. That kind of care, that kind of presence… you can’t teach that. It comes from the heart. Even before that, she had already been caring for me every night for about two years. She always took her time with me, never rushed me, never made me feel like just another task. And on the days when my medication had me groggy, upset, or not myself, she stayed patient, gentle, and kind. She never took anything personally—she just kept showing up with love. What I also appreciated so much is that she made sure I was always taken care of, no matter what. When more help was needed, she brought in other caregivers and handled everything. I didn’t have to worry about anything—Ericka had it covered. She’s not just a caregiver… she’s someone who genuinely cares about people. She brings peace into the room. She makes you feel safe. She makes you feel seen. To me, Ericka is truly an angel, and I will always be grateful for her.
