About Erica

I'd describe my personality as cheerful, compassionate, patient I like caring for seniors because I value their life experience and like to hear their stories and thoughts. Aging is an under appreciated fact of life and should be honored with compassionate care that values the person and their care preferences. I'm looking for a job that allows me to provide the kind of care that people deserve, preserving dignity and bringing peace to the cared for and their family. I started caring for seniors when I began caring for my grandmother during her early dementia. I have been a nurse for 14 years, mostly in hospice and inpatient geriatric psychiatric. In my spare time, I like to garden and make ceramics. I am a Death Doula and read extensively about death and dying and creating meaning in life. One thing you should know about me is I am passionate about end of life care. My skills include listening, interpreting non verbal signs of anxiety and pain and gentle physical care.
