About Erica

I'd describe my personality as caring, hard-working, and ambitious. I like tutoring because I get to see students improve upon something they struggled with. They get to see that they're smarter than they may think and learn new information. I'm looking for a job that is not only educational to the customer but also teaches me something as well. I started tutoring in high school. I am specialized in anything music but academically tutored several people. In my spare time, I like to read lots of books and like to practice my instruments. I also like to watch documentaries to educate myself. One thing you should know about me is I genuinely care about improving a students knowledge. I view it as an opportunity for me to learn. It's a privilege to get to see someone learn what they're capable of. My skills include scaffolding, finding outside sources/worksheets to help with practicality of the topic, and making the session feel like a conversation rather than a formal lecture.
