I have been a caregiver for kids with special needs since 2020. It was my caregiving role that introduced me to physical therapy, and I am in my final year in Atlanta Georgia. In my work and academic experience, I have shadowed multiple board-certified pediatric physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and occupational therapists. I have spent time at Children's hospital, the Shepherd's Center, and Piedmont Atlanta, learning from these healthcare workers and I have spent time at the Elaine Clark Center learning from teachers who specialize in special needs education. I am comfortable managing toileting, transfers, assistive devices, g-tubes, suction, and AAC devices. As a student physical therapist, I am always looking for ways to improve positioning and incorporate movement in a person's day.
