I am a Junior Special Education Major looking for a summer job! I have a vast amount of experience with those with special needs. To begin I have been studying to be a special education teacher for three years now. I have had the opportunity to do two practicum experiences work with children in k5-2nd grade and 9th-12th grade. These students had a variety of abilities. Some were visually impaired, had autism, had developmental delays, had IDD, had ADHD, or had a learning disabilities. I enjoyed my time with them and got a good report from my mentor teachers in each setting. I also care take for an 11 girl with cerebral palsy while I am at college. She is nonverbal and needs a list of assistance with bathing, personal hygiene and regulating her emotions. She has become one of my best buddies. I also have a very close friend with Down syndrome that is my absolute joy! I truly have a heart for those with special needs young or old. It is my life passion.
