About Emma

Emma seemed like a great fit for us, and totally hit it off with our kids when she came for a one-hour paid visit to meet our kids prior to the babysitting job she confirmed in the care.com system. We were charged $89 for a job she never fulfulled, and paid her $25 to visit our house and then ghost us. We followed up with her the next day as promised with proposed babysitting hours both via SMS and on the site, and she never answered us. We ended up having to reach out to customer service to get the $89 back, and never did hear from her again. It felt unprofessional the way she treated us. It´s okay to not feel you are a match with a family. I get that. Just be professional and send a follow-up text with something as simple as, "It was nice to meet your adorable children. I don´t think this job is for me." No excuses needed. Considering the $110 membership fee and the fact that she charged us for the one-hour visit, I expected professionalism. Also felt swindled that she confirmed a pre-paid babysitting job she had no intentions of showing up for.
