About Emma

Hi! I am a senior at Tufts University earning my BS in Biochemistry. I am passionate about discussion-based learning, and believe that deep understanding will always beat memorization. I have experience tutoring high school students in AP chemistry, English, and pre-calculus; I am also open to working with younger students. Through my tutoring, I strive to help students make the fun, real-world connections that ignited my passion for the subjects I study. I also have experience with the prep school admissions process, including essay writing, interview preparation, and SSAT preparation. I'd describe my personality as gregarious, inquisitive, and kind. I like tutoring because I believe learning is based on building connections, not memorization. I started tutoring my senior year of high school. I devote most of my spare time to the Tufts Varsity Rowing team. I also love reading, yoga, and going to the lake.
