About Emma

Growing up in a big family gave me a passion for caregiving from a young age. I love meeting new people and families and learning about their values and how I can best support them as a caregiver. I'm very flexible and adapt easily to new environments. I have a long history of working with kids in different contexts including babysitting, nannying, teaching English, substitute teaching, and currently as a graduate-student speech-language pathologist. These experiences have taught me how to support kids with learning, child development, building heathy relationships, and setting boundaries. One thing I've become passionate about is avoiding power struggles, seeking to understand what a child's behavior communicates and how I can work with them rather than against them. This has taught me the importance of setting boundaries and expectations from the start. I'm eager to continue learning from these experiences and support children and families in any way I can!
