About Emma

Teaching and tutoring young people is one of my great passions. With nearly 7 years of varied experience (including running a writing center, volunteering as literacy tutor, teaching a second language, developing curriculum for community groups, and mentoring/caring for children of many ages) and a kind and encouraging approach, I know I would be a great candidate to support your family. I'd describe my personality as kind, creative, and hard working. I like tutoring because I love to see something "click" for students that makes all the difference. I love to help people feel more capable and confident! My skills include patience and encouragement with students, no matter what level they start at. I am most confident tutoring in subjects such as reading/writing (especially revising essays), history, and social studies, though I am happy to explore other possibilities. I am starting a graduate program in the fall, but until then, I can't wait to connect with local families!
