About Emily

My name is Emily I generally go by Emmy, or as many kids tend to call me, miss Emmy. I graduated from Fort Lewis College with a major in Sociology and a minor in Anthropology, my main focus was on the education system and alternative education. During my senior year I interned with Durango Nature Studies for 5 months and they hired me on as a lead naturalist for the summer. After that I moved to Vail Colorado (my home town) and worked with a non-profit, our focus was on social and emotional wellness through adventure. I worked with elementary, middle and high school students. We had programs designed specifically for special needs and behavioral issue kids. Last summer I worked with Day Camp where we focus mainly on outdoor imaginative play. My work style and ethics lean towards getting outside as much as possible and recognizing emotions in positive and healthy way.
