About Emily

I have been caring for various types of animals for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my family owned a farm and we had several pets, including, horses, cats, dogs, and a pig. While in high school, I volunteered at the Huron County Humane Society for two years. I cared for and fed all animals, cleaned kennels, and, most importantly, got to take them out to play and socialize. One of the main skills I took from that experience is how to approach and handle pets that are hesitant to trust others. Around that same time, I received my dog grooming certificate. Though I am licensed, I haven't done a full groom in a few years so I am a bit rusty. That being said, I still have some tips and skills that could be helpful! Lastly, I have some experience with positive reinforcement training with my personal dog. Throughout this, we worked together so he could learn his name, sit, and even tackle potty training! Overall, I enjoy taking the time to understand and improve animals lives.
