About Emily

Hi, my name is Emily! I studied English and Rhetoric, Media & Social Change at Drake University and work part time as a freelance writer. I love reading, arts & crafts, and playing outdoors. I have a background in conservation and have spent a lot of my twenties traveling, camping, and volunteering in gardens so love nurturing a relationship with nature in the kids I look after. My background in travel and petsitting have given me an advantage in reading non verbal cues, which is a huge asset with infants. I'm also happy to work on baby sign language as well as speak French to them to give them the benefits of multi lingual exposure. I approach childcare with gentleness, clear and consistent boundaries, and education and redirection when encouraging new behaviors.
