I work at the Central Bucks Family YMCA. I started when I was 15 as a swim instructor and a lifeguard and then about 3 years ago I got asked to teach a mainstream swim lesson with a little boy who was enrolled through the abilities department. From then on I worked as a camp counselor through the abilities department as well as a staff member for teen night where the kids could come on Friday nights and swim and have a movie night. I often would work one-on-one with my campers and we would figure out a schedule that worked for them and follow it through the summer. I also was a member of a child care program at WCU, a club where we had a peer buddy, we would go to some school events together as well as work on school work at the library.
