About Emily

I relocated to WA from NC in summer 2024 to become a full-time caretaker for a family member diagnosed with Parkinson's and dementia, and who required a mobility walker. This gave me the opportunity to oversee, manage, and coordinate with compassion, dignity, and respect the following tasks as a 1:1 personal elder care companion: planning, preparation, and timely healthy meal service, daily medication management, superficial wound care, appointments transportation companion; administrative, scheduling, and care coordination duties, housekeeping, errands, and daily hygiene assistance including but not limited to dressing, bathing, and toileting needs. It was through this eye-opening hands-on experience that I not only discovered a passion for care but also realized the day-to-day mental health impacts of juggling multigenerational living. If I can bridge this gap for even one family in need of an extra set of helping hands then my purpose of contributing to my community is fulfilled.
