About Emily

Hello! I'm Emily, and I'm looking for a family who needs a warm, creative, and playful caretaker. I'm originally from Los Angeles and am now a junior at Cal Poly Humboldt, studying to become a classroom teacher. I've been around children my whole life. Both of my parents are educators, I began babysitting around age 10, tutoring around age 13, and I became a swim instructor at 15, working with children of all physical and cognitive abilities. I'm fluent in English, strong in Spanish, and conversational in Portuguese. I care most about building genuine, safe, and supportive connections with kids! I love talking with them about what they enjoy, helping them through challenges, and keeping them engaged (even through chores). I'm patient, creative, communicative, and calm under pressure. Outside of childcare, my favorite things are hiking, surfing, climbing, traveling, cooking new dishes, finding new coffee shops, and watching and playing music, which I've studied for 16 years.
