After becoming a nanny, I have went on to pursue working with Maxim as a Paraeducator. I have been working with high school students who have behavioral issues/autism. It has been such a great experience getting to know the different challenges they face everyday and learning how to assist with their everyday life. I have assisted with one-on-one students who have severe behavioral issues. Tasks that are done include speech therapy, redirecting students back to their main focus (eg. homework, videos, class work, activities) and watching student.
