In my undergraduate experience, I took a 9 credit course to become certified to work with individuals who are on the spectrum. I also minored in Exceptional education (special education) where I learned many techniques in working with behaviors and positive reinforcement. I have worked with a variety of diagnoses; Autism Spectrum Disorders, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsey, and Rett Syndrome. I also am currently obtaining my masters in Occupational Therapy where I am learning to care and aide in many types of functional tasks of daily living.
