About Emily

I have done care work since I was a teenager, for special needs children and adults as well as with typically developing children. I also have experience working as a summer school art teacher for a Montessori school, as well as a substitute one-on-one for children with special needs. More recently I have started a summer camp that is art and nature based for 5-9-year-olds that was well received. I am a mom of two daughters ages 6 & 8. I homeschooled both of my children, my oldest only through first grade as she is now attending a local Waldorf School. I still homeschool my youngest. I love the psychology of working with children, witnessing their growth and potential, helping them discover the world and be empowered to make choices with gentle guidance and safety awareness. I clean, cook healthy meals. I will be needing my daughters with me for the summer, they are helpful and well behaved. It could be like a summer playdate/individualized summer camp! Let's talk!

Emily has been outstanding with our three children. She can match their high energy, keeps them entertained with excursions to the park, crafts, cooking, etc,. is never fazed, and always keeps things moving forward in a positive direction. She manages our special needs child beautifully, balancing her needs (as an 11 year old) with our other two children (ages 11 and 7), and finesses a positive relationship with with our 11 year old son who is adept at power struggles. She has pulled of this juggling act each time for occasional sitting over a number of months with our family. Our kids love her and I recommend her most highly, and hope she will be able to work with other families AND always be available when I call.
