I've worked with kids of all ages across the globe for the last 8 years. I have worked in orphanages, helped physically build and create curriculum for schools, been a nanny and caretaker, a teacher and most recently spent 2 seasons working for Outdoor School here in Oregon. Im interested in childhood development, psychology, building relationship with nature, fostering creativity, non violent communication and creating safe and engaging environments for kiddos of all circumstances to thrive and grow. I think kids constantly invite us to the present and find it a great honor to get to work with them. I love animals and am happy to help with the complexity and simplicity of tasks required to nurture a home. I am very active, play instruments, sing, love cooking, love building, love being outside, love getting muddy, teach yoga and many other things I am happy to contribute and pass on. Emily brings such a lovely, gentle presence to her caregiving. We hired her to watch our 4 month old infant for our first date night and immediately felt at ease upon meeting her. She not only was gentle, sweet and playful with our infant, but was kind and empathetic about our first time parent jitters. She made extra efforts to keep us updated. Since then we have hired Emily for backup daycare a few times and will be working with her for regular date nights for as long as she is available for them. She sings, dances, has conversations and is incredibly attentive to our child - she obviously loves this work.
