About Emily

I am a writer, world traveler, and lover of working with people of all ages, but especially kiddos. I have been working with children in some capacity my whole life, but childcare has been my main source of income since 2015, specifically with children with very specific needs. From 2015-2016, I was a nanny and personal assistant for a family with two children, ages 5 and 10. From 2016-2018, I worked as a cottage parent at a residential foster home, where I lived in a cottage and raised nine to 10 children at a time, ages 10 months to 17 years old, who could no longer stay with their biological families for a variety of reasons. I was a full time, 24 hour mom during that period. From 2018-2019, I worked as a nanny and personal assistant for a family with a 3-year-old and a 6-year-old with with intense behaviors that needed a lot of specific care. I have been trained extensively in trauma-informed care, CPR/first-aid, ServSafe, and administering medications.
