About Emily

I'd describe my personality as calm, creative, and hard working. I tutor because I love helping students reach their potential and unblocking them from subjects they may have had difficulty with in the past. I'm looking for a job that lets me work with students on any writing assignment they may have. I started tutoring immediately after graduate school in 2009. I have tutored off and on since then, while also teaching at the middle school and collegiate level. In my spare time, I like to write, read, take long walks, play with my pets, and hang out with my family. One thing you should know about me is I meet your student where they are. I work with them in whatever way best suits their learning style, and am willing to follow any accommodations that might be needed. My skills include deep dives into English texts - books, poems, short stories, essays, etc..., developing essays from idea to polished final draft, and helping your student unlock their creativity in writing.
