I will admit that I do not have a lot of hands-on experience with individuals on the spectrum, but I am interested in working with children on the spectrum. I have studied Human Development and am planning on putting in some volunteer hours in at We Rock the Spectrum in Clearwater to get some more experience. As a part of my degree, I have taken courses on typical and atypical child development as well as a course on creative arts therapy where I learned how to use the arts for pro-social skills. I am a very empathetic and patient individual who would be honored to work with such a misunderstood population.
