About Emily

I am a grad student at LMU studying art therapy and marital and family therapy. Previously I worked at an inclusive preschool doing early intervention therapy with 3-6-year-olds on the autism spectrum. I have extensive nannying and babysitting experience including infants, toddlers, school aged children, and young adults both neurotypical and neuro divergent and with or without disabilities. I have also worked and cared for disabled adults. I have two younger sisters and played a large role in raising them, so I've always been super passionate about caretaking!

We found Emily on care.com and invited them over for dinner with our two kids so we could all get to know each other before a first babysit. Since then, Emily has become a favorite human in our house and we are so sad they’re moving. Emily has a kind heart, is silly and goofy with our kids (2 and 4 at the time we met), and loves doing art projects. They have experience with high-needs kiddos as well, and are really intuitive when it comes to the kids. They will share if there’s anything concerning - an emotion to keep an eye on, or a behavior that seemed new. It’s clear they’re actually connecting so well with the kids and discerning with what they share. “Emily nights” (aka mom + dad date night) are highly anticipated in our house, and our usually-slow-to-warm-up daughter was running to them with hugs by the third babysit. Our wild dog, too. Emily is also super dependable, which made it easy to rely on them as our primary babysitter. If you talk about a date, it goes into their calendar and they text in the days leading up to confirm. We’re super sad Emily is moving, so if you’re reading this, do yourself the biggest favor and hire them (and treat them like the gem that they are, please 💕).
