I have baby-sat a girl for 4 years who has Down's syndrome. She is now 16 years old and I have been watching her since she was 12. I also have taught yoga for the past three months at Life Skills, a non-profit organization which provides a wide variety of services to individuals with developmental, physical, and emotional disabilities. I am passionate about working with people with disabilities because I believe in making a difference in this world. Persons with disabilities view the world in a different way then we do, they see the purity in it and they tend to take less for granted, and I find this very inspiring. Working with people with special needs is as much a service to me, as I am giving to them.
