My experience with children first is as a mother of college age young man. Prior to that I had years experience babysitting as a teenager, working in my son's family daycare. Working as an assistant teacher in a hospital Child Development center for 2 years. I originally went to college to become a Child Psychiatrist with a minor in Special Education. Unfortunately I never finished my degree due to a family illness. I was needed at home and that is what I did. I have always had the roll of caregiver in my family, whether it be the children or the elders. It's part of my personality. I enjoy helping and caring for others. I have also mentored in the public schools for years helping children in various ways. I was Vice President of the P. T. A. at my son's school. I volunteered in the public schools for years while my son was in school. I was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award: at a Middle School. I enjoy just about every age group. I feel childhood is the most important time in one
