In addition to caring for 3 Grandparents and my Mom during illnesses, post surgeries, from 2013-2008 I was a Direct Care Counselor, caring for mentally disabled adults, providing personal care, hygiene, health, happiness and well being. I was also Activities Coordinator-Head Teacher in a Sensory Classroom of 12 Individuals and managed 4 staff members. My responsibilities included Lesson Plans, ADL Skills (Activities of Daily Living), Peer to Peer integration, Personal Hygiene, Fine/Gross Motor Skills, Language Concepts (sign language and PECS), Cognitive Activities, Art and Music Therapies, Community Integration, Writing Monthly Data Reports. I also wrote Valued Outcome Habilitation Goals and Behavior Modification Plans. I followed through on Speech/OT therapies. I was responsible for my staff members to follow OWPDD. From 2008-2006 I was a Teacher for Special Needs Children. I dealt with/taught Separation Anxiety (both child and parent), Fine/Gross Motor Skills, Art and Music Therapies, Personal Hygiene, Language and Number Concepts, Community Integration. From 2006-1999 I worked at a Montessori school. I was a Teacher for Special Needs Children.
