I have a girlfriend with a special needs child that I have interacted with for 15 years. She is going to be 18 soon but, because of her condition, she is developmentally 5 or 6. She has so much to offer and is so smart. I've watched her grow so much, in her own pace, and it is heartwarming to see her expand her horizons with all that she has challenging her. It really makes you appreciate life to be around her.
