I've been around elder care my whole life-my mom was a CNA, so I pretty much grew up in a nursing home. The residents always felt like extended family, and I learned early on how important it is to treat people with dignity, patience, and kindness. Eventually, I started working at a nursing home myself and stayed for five years. It was some of the most meaningful work I've done-being there for people in their most vulnerable moments, listening to their stories, and helping them feel safe and cared for. That experience is a big part of what inspired me to go to nursing school, where I'm currently working toward my degree. Caring for the elderly isn't just something I've done-it's something I genuinely care about.
