Experience: 30 yrs
For the past 30 years, I have worked in the health care industry. I have worked as a CNA in medical hospitals on the acute floor and at Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital on the stroke floor, and I loved it! In 2018, I started working at Brookdale Claremore, assisted living facility, and worked there for 3 years. I really enjoyed the slower pace than the hospital and I was able to get to know the clients better. I was also able to get work with clients in their home settings. In 2021, I started working for Comfort Keepers. I have worked with clients with all different backgrounds. I have experience with clients with alzheimers and dementia and I have the patience to work with them. I do bathing, housekeeping, laundry, medication reminders and personal care. I love this job that I do and want to continue doing this job and working with clients.
Beth N. cared for my sister Ann H. for almost five years. She took exquisite care of my dear sister during chemotherapy and even more so when dealing with a disabling break of her left wrist. The last was the clincher that changed Ann’s life and made her already impaired balance very difficult to manage. I was unable because of my own situation even to give Ann a shower. Her days of cooking, which gave Ann great satisfaction, were over. Ann continued to fall until she finally realized she had to have her walker with her constantly. Eventually it became almost impossible to travel as she had to spend weeks with one of her sons or to visit grandchildren. I could not have continued to live with Ann and thus make it possible for Ann to continue to live in her own home without the amazing help that Beth provided in regard through all the increasing demands. She bathed Ann, prepared a good breakfast, went through prescribed exercises and walking, did loads of laundry, and a lot of cleanup after Ann’s frequent bouts of diarrhea. The bathroom was always clean, the bed made beautifully. Beth is affectionate and her love for and attention to my sister made her a very welcome companion. As Ann began to suffer from moderate vascular dementia, Beth’s warmth and grasp of the ins and outs of this disease was an immense blessing to us both. I hope this brief evaluation gives some sense of Beth’s wisdom and competence as a caregiver. Beth has made me a better caregiver. I cannot be grateful enough for what she has done for Ann and for me. I welcome any further questions you might have.
