About Elise

I like working with kids because they remind me to be more in the moment, take things less seriously, and remind me to play and create! I love creative projects. I'm looking for a job that honors play, imagination, and care in a way that supports the child's needs. I love to spend time outdoors, so family's with similar mindsets will work great! I started working with kids when I was 15, I have worked for the last 5 as an outdoor based preschool teacher, holding space for big emotions, regulation through play and imagination. In my spare time, I like to journal, read, go on long hikes with my dog Malla, do yoga. My skills include allowing children to play within safe boundaries, and explore the natural world from a place of holding without large "rules" besides safety. I love cooking, and have been told from many children I make the best soup. My ability to be fully present in the moment allows me to hold space for kids to be kids without adult distractions
