I am currently and elementary education major at the University of Illinois. I was raised in a small town in central Illinois where I had many opportunities to learn about childcare. I lived in Nashville for two years in pursuit of earning a degree in music therapy before deciding that I wanted to be an elementary school teacher. I am a photographer on the side and have been babysitting since I was 13 years old. I have been a camp counselor at a performing arts camp for young teenagers since I was 16. I have also helped out for years at children's church and vacation Sunday school. I have tutored students, helped out at after school programs, and even helped coach sports. There are many important and worthwhile jobs in this world, and I wholeheartedly believe that caring for children is one of them.
