About Eli

I love having close, friendly and silly relationships with kids. I've spent 6 years working with many wonderful, sweet and wild toddlers and babies. I am really comfortable establishing trust and am able to quickly find communication flow with them through many different language and non-language stages. What sets me apart is my approach to conflict and tantrums. I focus on reflecting back, preventing them from injuring them-self or others, and letting them let it all out. My experience has taught me that kids learn empathy and consent through being treated with dignity and respect. I have a no shame, matter of fact approach to conflict. Instead of making comments about good and bad people, I guide kids through the reality of having big feelings and urges to hurt people, and we come through that conflict together using our empathy, creativity, and patience. I set clear and consistent expectations, while creating choices wherever possible. I am familiar with RIE and Hand and Hand
