I find being in service to others very fulfilling & have been doing it in one capacity or another since I was 15. I began in the corporate world then started my own business in 1993 & have been self employed since. I have worn many hats over the past 45 yrs & there's not much I can't do or haven't done at this point in my life. I have moved back to Ohio to live with & care for my 91 yr old mother, so am currently looking for only a part-time position. A sample of my skills & experience includes: live in full time senior care, Alzheimer's, dementia, & TBI experience, home/estate mgmt, transportation, errands, meal prep, medication mgmt, companion, pet sitting, & professional personal assistant. I also have over 40+ yrs of computer experience, so am very tech savvy with electronics. I also have experience working with the blind, having worked with Erik Weihenmayer, the first blind man to climb Mt. Everest. If I sound like a good fit for your situation I look forward to hearing from you.
We cannot recommend Eli highly enough. She cared for our mother with genuine compassion, patience, and professionalism, and we always knew Mom was in excellent hands. She was incredibly dependable, taking Mom to medical appointments, waiting with her, scheduling follow-up visits around her availability, and helping with errands and shopping. She managed medications with great attention to detail, making sure prescriptions were always filled, organizing Mom's weekly pill box, and ensuring she stayed on schedule. What really set her apart was her initiative and thoughtful care. She noticed when Mom's hearing aid wasn't working, arranged the appointment to have it fixed, and even learned how to address the issue herself so we could help Mom in the future. She also adapted each day to Mom's changing physical and mental needs, always meeting her where she was. Beyond the practical support, she made life enjoyable. She baked with Mom, took her on outings, encouraged walks, swimming, and treadmill time, and found ways to connect through conversation and shared interests. She even checked in while Mom was in the hospital, which meant so much to our family. Unfortunately, our mother ultimately struggled with accepting the idea of having a caregiver and felt she was being "babysat." Ending the arrangement was entirely due to our family's unique circumstances and not a reflection of the outstanding care that Eli provided. Any family would be fortunate to have her. She is dependable, observant, proactive, compassionate, and truly has a gift for caring for others. We recommend her without hesitation.
