I have also volunteered as a children's church teacher and I have been babysitting for 15 years. I do light house work as it relates to your child's needs such as laundry, cleaning up play areas, and making meals for them. I have previously helped the families that I've worked for with tutoring, picking up kids from school, taking the children to doctor appointments, and driving them to sports practices in the family's vehicle. We have greatly enjoyed having Eleaya as a part time nanny for our 20-month old for several months now. Most of her prior work has been with older kids, but she’s adapted beautifully to working with our toddler. Eleaya is extremely reliable, has a calm demeanor, and is remarkably patient. She is happy to take direction and cues from parents, and good at anticipating our needs. She loves kids and having done this work for many years, has lots of intel on fun stuff to do around Decatur and tricks up her sleeve to manage behavioral challenges. In turn, she requests a household where she is respected and trusted by the parent(s) and their kid(s), and where expectations are openly discussed and consistent between parents/kids. She is also open to running errands on behalf of the household in addition to childcare responsibilities (I have so loved never having to drop off or pick up my dry cleaning anymore!). Bonus points: she does a top-notch elephant impression that delights my toddler ;) I’d be happy to field inquiries on her behalf for another part time gig or for babysitting opportunities.
