Experience: 10 yrs
Hi, I'm Ellie! I'm 29 and have 2 kids, ages 8 and 9. I am CPR and First Aid certified, and a licensed childcare provider in the state of Washington. I can provide personal and professional references, have a clear background check, and a clean driving record. I have more than 10 years experience caring for children in a variety of ways, including babysitting, nannying, and early childhood education. I've been working in child care centers for several years, and am ready to go back to private care where I can provide a quality of care I'm truly proud of. I believe children learn best through play, with developmentally appropriate limits and challenges. I am passionate about incorporating growth areas like fine and gross motor, language, and cognitive development into everyday activities. There is nothing more rewarding than watching kids grow and learn to do new things!
If you’re lucky enough to snag a spot with Elayna, don’t hesitate—hire her, baby carrier and all. She’s the kind of caregiver every parent dreams about but assumes only exists in parenting forums and fairy tales. My son had terrible reflux as an infant, and in a classroom full of babies, she literally strapped him to her in a carrier and carried him for most of the day to keep him upright and comfortable. She always kept me in the loop—whether it was a quick message to reassure me on a tough drop-off morning or an update if he seemed. Her photos are wonderful. She sends me photos of my son throughout the day. Many of them became my phone background (also my mom’s). She somehow captures your kid’s soul and joy in a 3-second snapshot between naps and diaper changes. She’s confident, calm, endlessly kind, and clearly has tons of experience with babies. Reflux, spit-up, crankiness—you name it, she’s seen it and handled it with grace and love. You can tell she really cares about your child. Not in a “this is my job” kind of way—but in a “this tiny human is important and I’m honored to be part of their world” kind of way. I’d clone her if I could. But since I can’t, you should hire her. Immediately. Before someone else does.
