Elaine was flexible in her start date, as I had to change the date multiple times due to illness and she was very kind and understanding regarding this. She was thoughtful and purchased a book for our little children as well. However, we did not get a chance to know Elaine very well because she quit after the very first day. In a household with two working parents, I requested in our interview 2 weeks notice to find a replacement if she felt like this was not a good fit. Elaine did not honor this and has left our family in a stressful situation without childcare.
