About Ed

I'd describe my personality as patient, friendly and supportive. I like tutoring because I can help people learn challenging material by building on what they know in a way that is empowering and builds confidence. I'm looking for a job that allows me to help people overcome obstacles preventing them from reaching their goals. I started tutoring as a math student about 35 years ago. I also hired and trained math tutors as Cabrillo Math Learning Center director. In my spare time, I like to do Tai Chi, Swim, math applications, film editing, piano improv, and wood working. One thing you should know about me is that I am very respectful others values. I tutor because I love teaching and learning how others learn. My skills include ability to communicate ideas from arithmetic through multivariable calculus, statistics and higher math, ability to use student's words to explain ideas, and ability to help students take advantage of available resources.
