Experience: 5 yrs
Making a difference in someone's life is what drives me. For the past five years, I've been dedicated to supporting adults and seniors, helping them maintain their independence and well-being. My experiences in previous care roles solidified my desire to provide compassionate and impactful care. I prioritize understanding your loved one's preferences and personal history to build a strong connection. I am patient, calm, friendly, and approachable. I communicate with families through written daily reports, verbal updates during visits, and regular text or phone call updates. I am experienced in adapting to changing routines, de-escalating stressful situations, and handling confusion. I have a high school degree and am certified in CPR and First Aid. I can assist with light housekeeping and meal preparation. I'm eager to bring my skills and caring nature to your family and provide the support you need.
Based on what ime she was here and how she pitched in for a hectic pace, I thought very highly of her. I had major back surgery 13 days before but we were crunched to get things sorted, packed, and cleaned up for photos to list our house for sale, as we need it to sell soon. We had agreed to all day Thurs, half day Fri due to my post-op appt, and all day Sat. We were coming down with colds when she arrived but she said it was no problem because she was just getting over a cold. We found masks to wear to help others coming through not be exposed, but she did not ask for one. I had given specific parking instructions since the area had street cleaning restrictions. She had to go out just before noon to move her car. Shortly after she came back, she asked to leave 2.5 hours early on Day 1 to help family by picking up a child from school, so I agreed - I've had to raise kids so I know when you need help you need it, and we said she could work an extra hour the next day to help make up the time. It's now Day 2, she did not show up at the agreed time, when it was more than half an hour later I texted to see if she was on her way because we had run into some road construction on the way back from my doctor but I got no response. When it was 1 hr 10 min after our agreed start time I called, and yes, I said if I did not get a text or a call back I would leave an unfavorable review. I waited almost another hour before I came to write this, and look for someone else to help me on my Day 3 of Help needed. I would have appreciated communication if she wasn't comfortable here, if she was sick or had a family situation come up, but no communication (or being ghosted) is not OK with me. I really hate leaving less than good reviews, so now I feel bad, too.
