Hello! My name is Doug. I just left my position as a math teacher after 10. 5 years and am looking for opportunities to bring my tutoring skills to individual students. Grades I can tutor in are 3 - 9 (math) and 3 - 12 (reading and writing). My personality: quick-witted, honorable, and empathetic. I like tutoring because I can help students not just with the subject matter but also with improving their confidence. I'm looking for a job that has flexibility in the schedule. I enjoy helping people with their struggles and problem-solving. I started tutoring in 2002 when I worked at Sylvan Learning Center. I also tutored a friend in 2010 who needed help with college math to get her Bachelor's Degree. (She got it!). In my spare time, I like to read political news, spend time with friends/family, record music, and hug my dog. I'm patient, kind, and non-judgmental. I treat all my students with respect. My skills include listening, clear communication, and empathy.
