I ran a daycare out of my home when my children were younger, from years 1994 to 1999. I have volunteered as a leader at church for preschoolers and infants for more than 8 years. I did babysit for a friend, her daughter was infant to 5 years old. I am employed for 20-month-old, I had taken care of her since she was 3 months old. Most recent job, 8 months old until preschool. I have also had many years of experience taking care of Elderly clients. My gift is helping others achieve a meaningful life, through encouragement, activities, and exercising together. Doris took care of our son from infancy until we enrolled him in full-time daycare. She was a wonderful influence on him, teaching him early skills such as counting, color identification, ABCs and other early learning milestones. She went out of her way to take him on a daily activity to the library or local parks and made connections with other caregivers in our neighborhood to arrange playdates. My son is very shy and introverted, and he loved being left with Doris. He still talks about her all the time, and lights up when she comes to visit. Doris was also wonderful with our 7-year-old dog and included her in their daily activities. Our dog can be quite temperamental and territorial, and Doris was able to manage her both at home and at the park without any problems. I am so thankful our first experience with a nanny was Doris. She was a lifesaver when my husband and I went back to work after our son was born!
