About Dontrice

Dontrice worked with my step mother for over two years and it was the only reason that she was able to live independently for as long as she did. With progressively worsening dementia, my stepmother needed evolving care, but Dontrice was the most incredible resource. D managed her day to day care, medication, getting her to doctors appointments, taking her on daily outings for both the practical (grocery store, clothes shopping) as well as the more important (zoo, live music). With the siblings not available in town, Dontrice filled the in-person role that allowed my stepmother to function independently even as her disease worsened and she was able to handle less and less. My stepmother lovingly referred to Dontrice as, “my brain.” I was always blown away with how Dontrice was able to dignify my stepmother by helping her do things instead of telling her to do things. It was truly a partnership and I know how much D truly loved and appreciated the person that my stepmother was. I cannot recommend Dontrice enough to do justice to her work and care.
