I have always loved to teach. From the days of being a big sister to a brother 10 years my junior, to landing my first teaching job as a sophomore in college, it has always been my calling. My college degree was a double major in Elem. and Spec. Ed. (K-8) so I could have the flexibility of working with regular education and special education students. I taught in schools in supplemental classrooms with moderate special needs, and helped students learn to read, write and do math. I earned a Master's degree from Harvard to acquire skills in analysis/ synthesis and critical thinking as well as teach Reading and Language to students K-12. Raising two children of my own, I worked in a private clinic and later went on to start my own private tutoring practice, where I teach reading and writing (gr. K-12), and math (gr. K-8). I love what I do and I've had a high success rate, shown in improved grades and improved reading levels, better comprehension, and better retention.

Donna was a trusted tutor for A. She worked with A. daily as A. struggled through a difficult curriculum at a private school. When she started with A. in fourth grade, A. was reading at the first grade level. She could read grade level textbooks two years later using the Wilson program and literature from school and books that Donna picked out. Although she struggled through the private school math program, Donna taught her important concepts that she didn't understand in class, like long division, how to perform operations with fractions, positive and negative integers, pre-algebra , etc. She helped reduce A.'s anxiety about school by making learning fun, so a lot of laughter came from their table!
